Inspire Hope Conference August 13 – 19, 2016
Inspire Hope, a conference held at Muskoka Bible Centre (August 13-19, 2016), put a spotlight on ‘Bringing HOPE for a JUST Church in a broken world.’ Prison Fellowship Canada participated in the conference for two days. We had the privilege to share our vision to pursue reconciliation and restoration in the lives of inmates, ex-offenders, victims, and families.
The conference presenters included Mike Krause Teaching Pastor at Southridge Church, St. Catharines, Ed Wilson President, International Justice Mission (IJM) Canada, and Dr. Barry Slauenwhite President/CEO of Compassion Canada. There were breakout seminars that helped individuals learn how to become more effective in the issues of justice in the community and abroad. Micah Bournes Spoken Word Artist from California and Rob Wilson (FRESH IE) Canadian Music Artist presented special musical and worship sessions that incorporated justice issues as central themes in their message.
The speakers highlighted Jesus’ call to proclaim the gospel of restoration and transformation. Jesus stepped outside of societal and cultural boundaries to reach the outcast, rejected, people discarded as being less than human. God desires to transform lives and bring hope to the darkest of places. We invite church communities to join us in accomplishing God in His work.
