In Alberta in 2024, on any given week, PFC is running upwards of 14 The Forgiveness Journey Bible Studies in different jails and prisons. 16 Alberta volunteers serve with the national team on the PFC by Phone line.

PFC has seen increased interest in Bridgecare from Alberta institutions and we are in the process of training volunteers in the Calgary and Edmonton areas.

 The 1Life simulation event (“Can you survive the first 30 days out of prison”), hosted by PFC staff and volunteers at the Edmonton Institution for Women, was a great opportunity to raise awareness about the challenges involved in reintegration and to garner support for and interest in Bridgecare.

 Our last Alberta prayer call, brought 13 volunteers and staff together. It was a reminder of the fact that the Lord works both vertically and horizontally – calling all of us to Himself and working within our lives, while also calling us into community with one another and using us to encourage and strengthen one another in Him. Praise God that at the time of writing this report, we have over 100 volunteers either onboarding or active in the ministry in this province.
