In Alberta, PFC’s ministry efforts have historically been centered on the correctional facilities in Calgary and the surrounding areas. However, PFC has seen a breakthrough in Edmonton. PFC now has teams from local churches facilitating PFC’s The Journey program in both the Edmonton Institute for Women and Edmonton Institution. PFC is actively recruiting individuals to join these in-prison teams to better serve the prisoners through our programs. With four other correctional facilities in the Edmonton area, PFC is also recruiting more individuals to be equipped to expand PFC in-prison programming into these institutions, and is also exploring the possibility of opening an office in Edmonton in 2019. There are also opportunities in 2019 for teams from local churches to facilitate PFC in-prison programs at Lethbridge Correctional, Bowden Institution, and in the north at Grande Prairie Institution, and Peace River Correctional.
