PFC is making significant strides in Saskatchewan. At the heart of our efforts, seven institutions now benefit from our PF by Phone service, while ten others are actively participating in our Angel Tree initiatives. This collaboration saw over 500 children, some from the most remote corners, receiving gifts this past Christmas. We’re also proud of dedicated individuals like Bill Tarr, who has given over 30 years at the Reginal Correctional Centre. As we further our mission, we’re actively seeking to strengthen our volunteer base in cities like Prince Albert and Saskatoon, aiming to bolster both in-prison activities and our vital Bridgecare program.
Manitoba stands as a beacon of PFC’s efforts, encompassing a network of 27 diverse facilities where we strive to make a difference. Our PFC by Phone program has taken root in seven institutions, echoing the voices of those seeking connection. In Winnipeg, our Bridgecare teams are flourishing, a testament to their growing importance signaled by an uptick in referrals. Furthermore, our innovative Sycamore Tree Restorative Justice program is bridging divides, and with the overwhelming backing of correctional staff, our Angel Tree program has soared, marking an impressive 85% growth in just three years. As we reflect on our journey and its milestones, we earnestly invite dedicated individuals to join us in our mission to make a lasting change.
