Prayer Calendar

We pray for new connections to local churches across Canada, especially in those places of greatest need for Angel Tree Christmas sponsors. We pray that the Lord our Banner will give us the victory in Him to all the challenges that arise in making known His grace and love to the world around us. 

We lift up the callers who have sought after support on the PFC by Phone lines and pray that the seeds planted in their lives will lead them to a fruitful harvest of peace, understanding, and restored hope. May the Lord protect the Word planted in them until the appointed time. 

We pray that every time a PFC by Phone volunteer opens their mouth to speak to a prisoner caller, that the very words of the Holy Spirit would burst forth, leading many to eternal life, encouragement in faith, renewed hope, and a deeper sense of identity. 

We lift up our dedicated Bridgecare volunteers who commit time bi-weekly to meet with clients, encourage them on their journey, seek out and utilize local existing supports to assist them in their journey, and exemplify servant leadership to all. We pray that the Holy Spirit graces their fellowship with many open doors for every need.

We pray that the Lord will continue to help Prison Fellowship Canada to establish meaningful support in these three key areas of needs for returning citizens to land firmly upon. We pray for these supports all across Canada, and for the insight to recognize them as they come forward from differing contexts. 

We pray for the prisoners at Bath Institution, and pray that more prisoners will find their way to the phone lines during the 6pm to 9:30pm time slot. We pray that every caller is met by life-giving words, and the good news of the phone line will spread in a positive light among prisoners. 

We pray for a powerful shift in the prisoner population across Canada, where the scales over incarcerated men and women’s eyes begin to fall, and a renewed perspective over each life and circumstance begins to take root. We pray for incarcerated men and women to know the freedom that is found in Jesus. 

We thank the Lord that He is the God who sees our every need; meets our needs, and walks with us through this journey, every step of the way. We thank our Heavenly Father for sending His Son, and for all the bountiful blessings that we enjoy on account of His sacrifice for us. 

We pray that the entire landscape of how we do prison ministry across Canada would be powerfully transformed by the hand of God. We pray that antiquated prison designed for a pre-technology era would be completely destroyed, and the future of technologically advanced prisons would emerge. We pray that these new environments would support both organizational access to prisoners as well as program education settings. 

Though access to God’s Word is not lacking in prisons, understanding of what it means for us today definitely is. We pray for peace over the players as it challenges them in different ways, and pray it […]

Though prisons can be dark places, poorly lit, along with just a tangibly heavy thickness in the air, we pray that the light of the Lord would come bursting forth, changing the very atmosphere, enlightening hearts to overflowing joy and hope, and restoring each soul in ways everlasting. 

We pray that prisoners across Canada would continue to receive dreams and visions, and that volunteers and fellow prisoners would be given a Spirit of Interpretation, to help bring clarity to the visions God gives. We pray for many to find healing in this unconventional way of God’s Kingdom. 

We pray that as our National staff continues to move through the Walking The Good Path curriculum as our weekly devotional, we would find meaningful new insights that both assist the development of the program, but also our spiritual lives. Lord bless us with new insights.

We lift up the powerful work of the Spirit through this program that looks at taking responsibility for crime and finding peace in the Lord, and we pray that every participant is guided in their thoughts and inner heart to receive all that is available to them during these sessions. 

Lord, we know you’ve strategically placed sons and daughters filled with gifting among the prisoner population. We pray you would release those gifting through Your Holy Spirit and flood the prisons with songs of hope. 

Father, we ask that your children receive the seeds of truth through PFC’s Bible based curriculum and walk into a fuller, deeper, immovable sense of all that we are in You. Make these dry bones come alive with a renewed sense of purpose. 

God, we pray for an outpouring of Spirit filled and anointed teachers of Your Word; those who can discern and cut precisely to the deep roots of fruitless trees in the lives of everyone who attends to any area of ministry with Prison Fellowship Canada. 

We lift up the Bridgecare partnership teams and ask the Lord to unite these teams in their common pursuit to support Bridgecare clients. Diffuse the attacks that come to divide and distract from the mission at hand. Bind us together in love.

We pray that every institution across Canada is sufficiently supplied with easy-to-read Bibles that support grounding prisoners in their faith. We pray for revelation and renewal through Your Word.

We pray for every child who is without a father this Christmas, whether prisoner or the child of a prisoner, and ask that You would powerfully reveal Your ever-present presence in our lives. Remind us that we're not alone.

Lord, we pray for a robust marketing strategy that helps us to capture a sense of purpose in the minds and hearts of the Canadian Christian Church community. Help us to connect our mission with the believer’s sense of mission.

Lord, we pray that the local church where our Bridgecare volunteers are connected, would get involved in meaningful ways by surrounding these returning citizens with supports of every kind, from clothing, to employment, to becoming places that holistically address the issues of reintegration on every spiritual - but also practical - way.

We continue to pray that Bridgecare clients who have an interest in the trades would find their way to this meaningful employment support through the Skills Development Fund. May the Lord provide each candidate with the opportunity for gainful employment. 

We lift up Paige and Dany as they reach out to halfway houses across Ontario and pray God's favour upon them everywhere they go. We pray many will become familiar with Bridgecare through their efforts, and the support of the Bridgecare program becomes a staple to transitional houses.

We thank the Lord for the uniquely prepared team that He has pulled together in this season of Prison Fellowship Canada's history. We pray the continued sharpening and anointing upon each teammate as we labour together in the call of our Sovereign Lord, Jesus Christ.

We pray for Caregivers and the children of prisoners this Christmas. May they find joy in the Spirit this Christmas season, and may it ultimately lead them to the hope we have in Your unfailing love, Heavenly Father.

On a day that incites and excites many to fear, we pray that hearts everywhere would be overcome by the power of peace. May the Giver and Sustainer of our peace reach the hearts of prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families with the peace beyond comprehension.
