Prayer Calendar

We continue to ask God for favour in institutions and with volunteer clearances. We pray for obstacles to be removed and Spirit-filled believers to occupy positions of authority from wardens to correctional staff.

We thank the Lord Jesus for his holy example of advocacy on our behalf to God. We ask the Lord to fill the Canadian Christian church community with the wisdom, discernment and maturity to offer our own lives as advocates for the downtrodden; the broken; the prisoner.

We pray for the men and women being released each day from a correctional institution across Canada and pray that each one would find a pathway to gainful employment, security in finances, and wisdom in stewardship.

We lift up prisoners who desire after God but face literacy obstacles. We pray that God would raise up teachers and programs for prisoners that enable them to overcome these challenges and find new, enjoyable ways to learn. Pour out knowledge and understanding, Lord.

We pray that more than seeing Bridgecare as just another ‘support’, participants of the Bridgecare Mentorship program would have a profound revelation of the necessity of healthy community in living out their God-given destinies.

We pray against the strongholds that keep many prisoners locked in the cyclical loop of re-offending. We pray that the still small voice of God would move thunderously in the hearts of prisoners and ex-prisoners with a new and counterintuitive perspective about dependency on God. May the Lord strengthen their will to obey.

We seek continued Holy Spirit inspiration to pour out over PFC’s marketing initiatives and for everyone involved in the process. May the Spirit inspire beautiful stories and images that gently communicate the breadth of impact our God makes through this ministry in the lives of prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families each day.

We pray that in this fiscal year we will see abounding fruit resulting from the long-suffering work behind the scenes. Please be near staff who seek an immovable foundation for PFC ministry on God’s Word with integrity. May the Lord turn the attention of many new supporters to perceive what He is doing through PFC […]

We pray for a revival among chaplains who have become weary and heavy laden at the obstacles on every side in carrying out the meaningful work they do. We pray for restoration, reinvigoration, and revival to fight the good fight of their deeply impacting work.

We pray for the families of prisoners who are carrying the burden of a sentence themselves through the estrangement from loved ones caused by incarceration. We pray that these families find accepting and supportive church families who are willing to journey through this season with them, together.

We pray for the gift of connection, both through our Angel Tree Christmas program, as well as through Bridgecare Mentorship, as we highlight the benefits of these programs to prisoners today. We pray that many hearts would find encouragement for their journey through these supports.

We are astounded by how many prisoners receive direction, guidance, protection, and encouragement through dreams. We pray for faithful interpretations and a strong understanding in discerning the often-difficult messages that abound through a move of God in dreams and visions.

We pray right now for a sound understanding for prisoners and ex-prisoners of what it means to receive a new inheritance as adopted children of God. We pray that through PFC’s Faith & Justice curriculum prisoners walk away with an established foundation for their new identities in Christ.

We pray right now for the infilling of the Holy Spirit over prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families. Burn away the things that are not from You, God. Ignite a passion for Your Word, Your will, and Your ways. Help every justice-affected person to receive the yoke-breaking revelation of the Saviour.

We pray for every Angel Tree sponsor who signed up this year and in past years to share the love of Jesus through action. We ask the Lord to give them favour in gift deliveries; in depth of connection to caregiver families, and a sense of purpose in our mutual faith.

We pray the entire Canadian church community would receive a profound revelation of the treasures hidden in plain sight through the prisoner. I pray that what the world would be quick to call worthless, we would all share in His divine heart to see as dearly beloved children of the Most High.

We pray for those Jonah believers inside and outside of the church ignoring the still sweet voice of Jesus to be stopped in their tracks, with all competing voices removed, to return to their first love. We pray for a holy awakening of those who are spiritually asleep to arise and return to the path […]

We pray over every partnered volunteer team serving in-prison or in the community and ask the Lord to bind them together in their service though love. We pray for strong unified teams. We pray that more than just as facilitators of the curriculum, that people will see an example of peace and fellowship through our […]

We lift up our national volunteers across Canada and ask the Lord to bless them with times of restoration and rest. We pray that each one has meaningful life-giving activities scheduled into their day, and for wisdom to steward their time and resources well.

We pray that the Holy Spirit will etch out safe spaces and encouragement for prisoners who are serving time. May they have space to reflect beyond their current circumstances that helps them to find meaningful connections to the many things they can still be grateful for amidst incarceration.

Lord, we pray that no application for any prisoner who meets the proper requirements of participation for the Angel Tree Christmas program will be lost or misplaced. We pray for the resources to fulfill each and every one of these. May the Lord remove any hindrances for applying prisoners.

We pray that the Lord raise up the volunteers, the resources, and the access we need to see a successful rollout of PFC’s latest initiative, the Family Phone Line. We pray for God’s blessing, favour and protection over this program and the caregivers of prisoners whom we seek to serve.

Lord, you know what we need even before we ask. We pray that in every capacity that we will need you in the year ahead, and as we trust that you’ve already gone ahead and prepared a way forward for us, that we will see Your manifold blessings come to pass in our lives.

Every year we aim to find ways to celebrate the dedicated service of our faithfully devoted volunteer teams. We pray that the Lord will help us to recognize just the right way to make this possible in the year ahead.

We lift up the men at Stony Mountain Institution and ask the Holy Spirit to minister to their hearts as they continue on a journey into the deeper work of their restoration. Continue to be with them as they search their own hearts and lead them to their inner truth.

We pray that before any PFC By Phone volunteers responds to a question or comment of a prisoner caller, that the Holy Spirit would bridle their tongue and fill them with wisdom to give a solid and irrefutable reason for the hope that is within us.

As we draw near to the prisoner application deadline for Angel Tree Christmas, we pray that the Lord would raise up ample support to surround chaplains. We pray for administrative support, for clearance support, and for spiritual support. We pray that through our work many will see PFC as a meaningful support for Chaplains.
