Jill Harnum

Jill Harnum currently works at The Worship Centre in St. John’s, NL as their Mental Health Ministry Director and their Prison Ministry Co-ordinator. Jill graduated from MUN School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Nursing in 2011. She practiced as an RN within Eastern Health’s acute psychiatric care units until 2016. Jill has lived experience with incarceration, substance use disorder and mental illness. At the moment of Jill’s first and only incarceration, she gave her heart to the Lord in May 2016. She has been involved in the CCSA’s (Canadian Centre of Substance Use and Addiction) lived/living experience advisory group since 2019 and is currently working as a peer researcher with this organization. In the Fall of 2020, Jill became a member of SUNAR (Substance User Network of the Atlantic Region), a project funded by Health Canada, to raise awareness, educate stakeholders and inform policy through a harm reduction lens. Her greatest passion of all is to be a light in the dark places, as God has called her to be.
