Just as a shift in the weather signifies changes to the seasons for us, we also take the time to prayerfully consider how these heavenly markers help us to identify changes in our lives. We pray for discernment to recognize the shifts the Holy Spirit is leading us in, and for courage and boldness to […]
We thank the Lord for all of the partner institutions that participate each year to bring the gift of connection to prisoners and their families. We pray for another fruitful year as the season opens for institutional registrations. We also pray for increased awareness so that no child with an incarcerated parent will go without […]
We ask the Lord to turn his face towards the Bridgecare program and bless Prison Fellowship Canada with access, opportunity, support, and resources to expand our reach and response to supporting ex-prisoners and curbing recidivism through the efforts of the Bridgecare Mentorship program.
We thank the Lord for all the ways He has opened for us to reach and support prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families. We ask the Lord to continue to deepen that bond of trust between our organizations and that His blessing over us overflows and extends to every person involved in our joint collaboration.
We pray for Chaplains across Canada today who tirelessly work to support prisoners in their spiritual needs. This is certainly no easy task, and we pray that the Lord is etching out time and space for them to find refreshing for their own spiritual needs as well. May the goodness of the Lord shine continually […]
While we often hear from so many prisoners that they feel plagued with spiritual captivity to sin and death, we pray that the Word of God and the truth about Jesus brings hope and deliverance. We ask the Lord to truly ‘set the captives free’ and to illuminate the minds of prisoners to the real […]
We thank the Lord for those who surrender themselves to attend in-prison Bible studies, ask questions, and seek to deepen their understanding of their faith. We ask the Lord to meet each one in a special way, and that every good Word planted in their heart will produce a bountiful harvest of restoration in each […]
We thank the Lord for the clients seeking community connection through PFC’s Bridgecare Mentorship program, and we pray that the Lord would continue to provide encouragement for each one on their reintegration journey through open doors of employment and great connection to a local church.
Today we lift up the physical phone hardware in institutions across Canada and ask the Lord to inspire an initiative in correctional facilities that allows for dated or broken phones or phone parts to be replaced. We also ask the Lord to equip institutions with the necessary technology needed for prisoners to access all helpful resources.
We pray that churches all across Canada will recognize the crucial relevance of a program like Angel Tree Christmas and the impact they can make in their community. We ask the Lord to go before us and raise up local church sponsors in every place where prisoner families reside so that no child will be […]
In the same way that many writers of the Scriptures were not strangers to incarceration, we pray that prisoners who the Lord has set apart for His divine calling will find their way to greater spiritual support through PFC’s various programs. May they find an affirmation of their calling and purpose in life.
We pray that the Holy Spirit will develop a deep desire for reading among PFC volunteers all across Canada; not only for the Word of God, but also for ancillary books (like PFC’s recommended reading) that has helped to shape our understanding of the work and related issues that we’re involved in.
We pray for those PFC by Phone volunteers who serve across the country making the phone line available to prisoner callers from 9am to 9pm and ask the Lord to bless each one with meaningful interactions on their calls. We pray that those who need encouragement will find it in Him.
We thank the Lord for the family of God He has given to PFC through our national staff. We pray for His continued sanctifying work not only in making each one more and more Christ-like each day, but also in honing our abilities and giftings on a path towards excellence. We pray God’s richest blessings […]
We’ve prayed month after month for the Holy Spirit to speak to prisoners through dreams. But today we pray that the Holy Spirit would receive just a single, powerful, yoke-breaking Word for prisoners through their dreams. May we see the testimony of this answered prayer through the feedback that volunteers provide.
We thank the Lord for this open door of effective ministry and for the volunteers involved in this deeply restorative work. May the Spirit lead week to week, giving insight, with an attentive eye for the significant details to assist us in facilitating restoration and a restoration of identity.
We pray for greater involvement of local churches in our Angel Tree Christmas ministry. May more pastors, deacons, elders, and congregational members find their way to our program with a fire from the Holy Ghost to make it part of their annual offering. May the local church seeking community engagement see the powerful connection that […]
We thank the Lord for all the ways that He continues to provide for our needs as a national ministry. We especially pray for those under-developed regions across Canada where more could be done with the right financial support, and ask the Lord to lead us to the people and places with a heart for […]
We thank the Lord for those who give faithfully to supporting the national ministry of PFC and ask the Lord to surround each one at their every point of need with the support they also require for whatever they face in life. May the Lord honour those who support ministry work with the intimacy of […]
We thank the Lord for our various ministry partners supplying Bibles, temporary housing, employment opportunities, and so much more that make this work possible. We pray that their every need is always met in Him, so that they may never lack in continuing to do good in even greater measure.
We thank the Lord for this annual initiative that allows us to meet with the residents of federal institutions in Eastern Ontario and make known the various supports that different organizations have to offer. We pray for a wonderful time of fellowship and friendship as we labour together to build up the entire person in […]
We thank the Lord for our partnership with Chaplain Desmond and pray that all of the work of planning today’s event comes together effortlessly. We pray for a special touch of God’s love over him as he beholds the manifold fruit of his tireless labour.
Today, as we visit two institutions that face stigmatization in completely different ways, we pray that our presence there will be tangibly felt. We pray that the residents know how loved and cared for they are not only to God, but also to us, and that each one walks away encouraged on the way forward.
We pray for divine connections as we meet many who are just starting out their federal journey at the federal reception centre, just as much as with those who are long time residents. We pray that this pivotal moment for newcomers is seen as something that inspires hope and a future for all.
We thank the Lord for Chaplain Paul Kern and the years of faithfulness he has provided in his work and partnership with PFC to support returning citizens. We pray that he finds renewed encouragement in his work, and finds answers to pray for all that he’s seeking from Jesus.
We pray that the Holy Spirit stirs up a holy curiosity in prisoners to connect with our booth and learn more about how they can find purpose and fellowship in connecting to a spiritual community. We pray for the restoration of hope and ask the Lord to help us to speak the words that come […]
We thank the Lord for the diligent labours of PFC Staff in all that they do in our small but nimble organization. We pray that the Lord etches out the necessary spaces for our own continued healing in this journey, and surrounds us with the support needed to walk into a greater sense of self.
We thank the Lord for His careful and attentive hand that guided the stones (of David) to take down the giant (Goliath). We pray for this same careful and attentive guidance over all aspects of PFC ministry. You, oh Lord, know the giants that stand before all that you lead us to do. You, also, […]
Lord, bless the Angel Tree families this year, not only with gifts from incarcerated parents, but also with a greater connection to the local church programs for kids, Bible studies for caregivers, encouragement through practical community support, and a welcome fit for royalty into the family of Christ.
We pray for the continued restoration of Indigenous communities through the Way, the Truth, and the Life that Jesus is. We pray that the hurts that indigenous communities have suffered for far too long find resolve and healing through the reality of Jesus as he actually is, and not through the lens of the poor historical examples.
We thank the Lord for how He leads, stretches, and nurtures our growth year to year. We lift up the start of our new fiscal year and pray for more open doors and opportunities to develop and teach about relational ministry approaches with volunteers, churches, and institutions across Canada. May the Lord further clarify the […]

We thank the Lord for the PFC by Phone volunteers who serve consistently on the phone lines each week. May the Lord repay their faithful service with testimonies of His goodness through these conversations. May each volunteer also find special encouragement during times when there doesn’t appear to be as many calls.
