Ride for Refuge

Event Date: October 1, 2016

This fall, Prison Fellowship Canada is participating in the Ride for Refuge, a non-competitive bicycling and walking fundraiser with locations across Canada. We are joining hundreds of other charitable partners like us who care for the displaced, vulnerable and the exploited.

Funds raised will go towards supporting our In-Prison programs that are ministering to people impacted by incarceration across Canada in over 70 correctional centres. Our programs offer inmates the opportunity to receive regular spiritual care and ongoing discipleship through our in-prison bible study focused on life skills and biblical truth, one-to-one mentorship, and pen pal letter exchange program. You can learn more about the program here.

To accomplish our goal we are looking for team captains to create teams of riders and individual riders and walkers to join teams to help us raise funds and awareness about the needs of those in prison.

How do I sign up?

  1. Go to Ride for Refuge Website
  2. Choose your location, sign up your team or join a team to walk or ride.
  3. Make sure you choose “Prison Fellowship Canada” as your Ride Charity.

There are over 35,000 incarcerated persons on an average day in Canada.

Men and women in prison struggle with grief, loss, guilt, shame, and commonly have a history of trauma, abuse and mental illness.

Will you ride with us to bring hope to those in prisons?
